Hot Spring and view.
The misrepresentation about the 'six minute walk' from the station! It may be a six minute walk from the station you are in good condition, don't have any luggage and know where you are going. I asked for directions from the station with my booking and the reply I recieved was to check on my own to get driving directions. We weren't driving. Also, the road has no sidewalks in most places and a very narrow side road.

Not in any order: Good sized room Kettle, biscuits etc in room Chairs and settee in room Traditional breakfast Onsen available and well kept Free internet access River view from room and restaurant Bus stop close by
Hotel reflected its age in appearance but facilities etc were fine. Its location on a narrow busy road - difficult to cross with cases etc. Rather isolated and few eating places close by.

free use of the two hot baths that could also be occupied privately between 10 pm and 1 am large room with nice view on the river
dangerous access on a busy road without roadsides impossible to get the room before 3 pm, so you have to leave your bags at reception japanese breakfast only room needs an update, it is also a bit smelly expensive compared to other hotels in other places that had more to offer

View, View View. Spring Baths
No Choice only Jap Breakfast. warning get the Bus in, as the train station is a tricky walk with Luggage. Noticed Most people take Cabs but for adventure do the bus, its an experience.

Very comfortable with friendly staff, though most didn´t speak English. It was a little difficult to find with the last part from Tonisawa Station being a walk along a particularly busy and quite dangerous road. But, it has a good bus service to Odawara and Hakone Yumoto where you can catch the train to Hakone. The food was wonderful!
It needs clearer directions to get there as it is complicated from Tonosawa Station, though if you travel by bus it is easier.

The Japanese bath! Also the views over the river from our room. The room was also spacious and comfortable. We also liked that it was only 3 bus stops from Hakone Yumoto train station.
There wasn't really anywhere to eat in Tonosawa so we had to go into Hakone Yumoto to find dinner. The staff didn't really seem to speak English. We were unsure if breakfast was included (we assumed not) but after we checked out we were directed towards the dining room for breakfast (which we declined because we had already eaten). We saw other reviews mentioned taking the bus to the hotel. Just to clarify, take the bus from Hakone Yumoto 3 stops to Kami-Tonosawa (you can't catch a bus from Tonosawa train station). From Tonosawa train station it is a trek down a slope and steps and along a narrow road with no sidewalk.

Excellent location with lovely views overlooking the river. Easily accessible from both Odawara and Hakone rail stations via bus (free unlimited rides if you buy the Hakone Freepass - highly recommended). Enjoyed the Japanese traditional breakfast which was included in our room rate, and the staff even accommodated a vegetarian meal specially for us. The hotel has its own onsen (hot spring spa), but also gives free access to a larger one a few minutes down the road in an affiliated hotel.
Directions to the hotel are not well marked in English, we had problems locating the property.
